Itinerary SATURDAY: ATHENS Breakfast, pick up from the hotel, guided sightseeing tour to the Acropolis, Parthenon, New Acropolis Museum etc. Free time during the afternoon. SUNDAY: ATHENS/CAIRO Transfer to the airport and depart for Cairo. Arrival and transfer to your selected hotel. You will have free time to explore the town on your own for the rest of the day. MONDAY: CAIRO/LUXOR Transfer to the airport, early in the morning and depart for Luxor. Arrival and transfer to the port for the Nile cruise. After lunch, visit the East Bank of the Nile, starting with Karnak temple built in 2000 B.C. for Amoun Ra. Thanks to its containing 22 temples, it is the biggest temple in Egypt. Visit the Luxor temple, built in 1450 B.C. by Aminophis and Ramses II. TUESDAY: LUXOR/EDFU Sailing to the West Bank with a visit to the Valley of the Kings with the Tombs of the modern dynasty of the Kings (1550-830 B.C.), such as that of Tut Ankh Amoun as well as the Sarcophagus discovered by the English Egyptologist Howard Carter. You will also find the coffin of Queen Hatchepsut which was carved in the mountain, in about 1450 B.C.. The tour ends with a visit to the Colossi of Memnoon and the two statues of King Amenophis. Sailing to Edfu, overnight on board. WEDNESDAY: EDFU/KOM OMBO/ASWAN Sightseeing at the Temple of God Horous, which was built during 237-57 B.C. and is considered to be a perfect representation of the ancient Egyptian civilization. Sail to Kom Ombo, visit the Temple of God Sobek and God Horaris. Sailing to Aswan, overnight on board. THURSDAY: ASWAN Sailing by a traditional wooden boat called felucca around the Botanical, Elephantine Island and the Mausoleum of Agha Khan. FRIDAY: ASWAN/CAIRO Leave the ship after breakfast for a visit to the High Dam and Aswan Dam, the unfinished Obelisque and Temple of Philae. You may select an optional excursion by plane to visit Abu Simbel temples. Transfer to the airport for the flight to Cairo. Arrival and transfer to your hotel. SATURDAY: CAIRO Full day Cairo sightseeing tour including the three Pyramids of Giza, the Sphinx and the Valley of the Temple. Lunch, visit to the Egyptian Museum, where the treasure of Tut Ankh Amoun is exhibited. Final stop at the old Cairo at the Mosque of Mohamed Aly and the Citadel of Salah El Din. SUNDAY: CAIRO/ATHENS Transfer to the airport and depart for Athens. Arrival and transfer to your selected hotel in Athens. Take your time to have a rest until the next day. MONDAY: ATHENS/MYKONOS Transfer to Piraeus port and depart for the 4-night cruise. First stop at Mykonos port. TUESDAY: KUSADASI (TURKEY)/PATMOS Stop at Kusadasi port.There will be enough time for shopping at the Bazzar or for a visit to the ancient town of Ephesus. Arrival at Patmos island in the afternoon where optional tours to the Monastery and the Grotto of St. John are available. WEDNESDAY: RHODES Grasp the chance to explore Rhodes island. You may select one sightseeing tour including Lindos Acropolis, the Old Medieval town and the Castle of Knights. Apart from the historical places one can visit in Rhodes island, there are also beautiful beaches and duty free shopping stores. THURSDAY: HERAKLION(CRETE)/SANTORINI Arrival at Heraklion port, in Crete island. You may join an optional guided tour to Knossos Palace. Sailing to the gorgeous Santorini island, the place that is believed to be the lost Atlantis. FRIDAY: PIRAEUS/ATHENS Arrival at Piraeus port early in the morning. Breakfast on board and transfer to the airport for your departure flight. Rates 2010
