Kefalonia
Kefalonia is the largest of the Ionian Islands. It is an island of contrasts, beautiful golden beaches and verdant slopes, but also Ainos the highest mountain that boasts a unique, dense black fir-forest and steep cliffs plunging into the sea. Kefalonia has hundreds of picturesque villages and small towns; its main attraction is the traditional village of Fiskardo Also worth visiting is Assos village, the Drogarati cave with its numerous stalactites and stalagmites, as well as the remarkable Melissani cave, more than 3km in length. The Capital and the main port of Kefalonia since 1757 is Argostoli, which is built on the inner coast of its peninsula.

Argostoli
Argostoli is the Capital as well as the main port of the island, a welcoming town with signs of 19th century architecture, completely rebuilt after the earthquake that struck in 1953 At Argostoli some places of interest to visit include the Korgialinio Folk Art and Historical Museum with Venetian records of the island, the Archaeological Museum with many interesting local findings from the excavations at Kokolata and Mazarata, the Katavothres swallow holes and the market place were its worth spending a few hours. Argostoli has a lively nightlife as well as many taverns and restaurants.

Fiskardo
Fiskardo is a port village of unique beauty that was not destroyed by the earthquake of 1953 and thus has kept its traditional color. There are many places to visit at Fiscardo including many coves and green lush areas full of trees. In summer Fiskardo becomes a cosmopolitan hot spot, full of yachts.

Assos
A beautiful village built on a small peninsula, known for its panoramic view, and with a Venetian castle on a peak.

Drogarati cave
The main cavern consists of a cavity divided into two parts. In the first, orange and yellow stalactites and stalagmites exist and in the second, because of its excellent acoustics, a suitable layout has been arranged for concerts to be performed.

Melissani cave
Melissani is situated at Karavomilos Village. Melissani is an underground lake, which receives its water by the stream that disappears underground at Argostoli. The indigo colour of the water and the reflections are spectacular, especially in the middle of the day when the sun’s rays fall vertically. The Melissani cave is explored by boat.

Beaches
Anti Samos:
Located to the south of Sami, a beach with crystal clear turquoise waters and white pebbles, ideal for relaxation.

Mirtos:
Is located on the way to Fiscardo, an exceptional beach with white fine sand and crystal clear abrupt deep waters.

Makris & Platis Gialos:
Two of the most beautiful and frequented beaches separated by a rock are located near Argostoli, with fine sand and light blue waters.

Skala:
This beach combines brown pebbles, blue waters and a pine forest. Water sport facilities and some taverns near the sea are available.
